Aprons, Aprons, Everywhere!

Ok, well, maybe not EVERYwhere. But they're definitely on my brain.
After the girls & I visited our brand-spanking-new remodeled & big-city-lookin' library yesterday, I drooled over an apron book I brought home. I'm already picking out fabric & trim to stitch up my very first WhiMSy love handmade apron!

Speaking of aprons...Last night I finally sat down to make one of the many little project ideas I have rattling around in my crafty noggin. It's so fun when I actually have the time to work on something new.

The apron I worked on last night was a little one for sure: A wee owlie apron! It's only a prototype. And I realized... it's not gonna work. It's too big. And if I make it any smaller, it'll look too wide & squatty, like the sweet owlies themselves. I envisioned a new owlie with an apron. The Summer Owlie is just trying it on for size below. And I love-it-so because it's made from vintage fabric & vintage rik-rak. I'm not giving up on the owlie/apron combo. Maybe I need to whip up some bigger plushie owlies, hm? With aprons?
So, I'm back to the apron drawing board. It looks like Barbie snatched this one anyway. Why does everything look cuter on Barbie? I hate her.
Then again, is there a market for cute vintage Barbie aprons?

P.S. Do you usually hear happy music when you arrive to my blog? I adjusted the music playlist so it won't automatically play. You'll have to manually click the "PLAY" button to hear tunes. I was getting too many {anonymous} complaints about my "annoying" music.

That barbie is such a cow! Blonde, skinny, yet curvy, with a wardrobe and shoes to die for. But unlucky for her - Ken does only have a "mound" Oh well, you can't have it all it seems...

serriously? complaints??? people drive me nuts.

I always liked your choice of music... nothing to popular and overplayed... nothing that we hear on every other blog we visit.

I was even shopping one day in a store and one of the songs from your blog played on the overhead and i was like..."wait a minute, this is a Whimsy Love song"!

What a coincidence! I've been looking at apron books, too. We don't have as many here at our library as I wish we had... Curses...

Just so you know ... I love your music selection. In fact, I love it so much that a lot of time I'll open a new browser window JUST so I can continue on enjoying other sites while listening to your music!!!

Ah, shucks... I like to go and hear happy music at people's blogs! Although, I imagine some people in the work-place might be caught off guard by it!

Loving your aprons! Best wishes with them!

The Barbie apron is too cute - we may have to make some. Phoebe has been in a Cinderella mood lately.

Boo on anonymous complaints! I LOVE your music and that is not my style. Usually I do grumble about it when people put music on their blogs. Yours I like so much I went and got a couple of the songs from iTunes. I decided that needed to happen after I found myself humming them for days on end.

Also, I too am on an apron kick, I think it's because they tend to be easy to sew up. Needless to say I'm about to have way more than any one person needs. I see Christmas gifts in many woman's futures consisting of aprons.

Aprons would be great for Blythe dolls too!! There is def. a market for that!

I LOVE your music too - sadly, I have to admit that I visit at least once a day just to hear a specific song or two on your play list that I am too lazy to download myself lol. That being said, your site used to take Forevvvvvver to load on my computer due to the music, and it's much faster now. So, I guess I like the option of pressing play so that everything else loads up quicker :)

Well that stinks about the music. People stink sometimes. I like your variety- I sometimes listen to it while working. :) HAHA!!

I love aprons! Hopefully you make some big people ones for your shop!

I wondered why I didn't hear anything when I came to your blog. :-( It doesn't seem whimsy any more without. Methinks you need a poll to see how many prefer the happy welcome of music as opposed to those who don't. ;-) Oh and umm, yes, there is a market for vintage Barbie aprons. You have no idea. You might want to try putting one or two in the shop and see how they sell. Just an idea. :-)

HA! Take THIS you "anonymous" poopypants! Most of us LOVE Whimsy-Love's music. It was one of the things that brought me back over and over (just in a DAY!) ;-)
Seriously, my hubby heard it when I first visited you months ago & now has that feature on HIS blog.
